New Adventures statue"New Adventures" is the bronze sculpture that adorns the Main Library's rear patio. Sculptor Gary Alsum, a resident of Colorado, says that his inspiration comes from memories of his own childhood and from observing his children and their friends as they play and interact. This bronze sculpture was a gift from TMP Architecture, Inc. and Frank Rewold and Son, Inc.

Libraries rely on volunteers for many of the "behind-the-shelves" tasks that require attention to detail and love of the library.  From teenagers to seniors, volunteers are sought at any age and ability.  Call Therese Peticca at (586) 226-5007 for more information or download our applications here:

How To Become A Volunteer
The first step in the process is to fill out an application and turn it in at any one of our locations. We will try to match your skill set with our needs and you will receive a follow-up call regarding what opportunities are available.
Why Volunteer?
"I volunteer at the library because I know I am helping to provide resources to patrons."
